Events are often included under the structure of confirmation

The Pastor, Confirmation Guides and the Director of Youth Ministry implement this ministry. Events are included under the structure of confirmation using the guides as support. Participation in confirmation events is not limited to enrollment in confirmation however, certain events have a stronger education influences than others.

Whirlyball

Whirlyball on February 24th For MS and HS youth…back by popular demand and because it is a crazy good time! We have spots for 15 to play Whirlyball (a game in bumper cars, kinda like lacrosse and basketball). No specific skill necessary other than being willing to have fun. We will leave St. Luke’s at 5:30pm and back by 8:30pm. The cost will be $15 and worth every penny. Bring a friend!

Wilderness Ranch 

The sign-up date for Wilderness Ranch is February 27th. For MS and HS youth…We are going to the ranch in Alberta, BC on July 7-14th. In all my years of ministry, I would say that this experience is a very unique and something every youth should experience. It is a camp week that includes riding horses but it is so much more. The
cost will be $450. Jesus shows up. I hope your schedule will be free to experience it. Friends are welcome.

Pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber 

Nadia Bolz-Weber is coming to St. Luke’s on March 2nd. For MS and HS youth…We are hosting a spectacular speaker. The youth of St. Luke’s will be blessed! Nadia is a nationally know speaker and an ELCA pastor. You can search her keynote from the ELCA National Youth Gathering on YouTube to learn more about her. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM9Y5S3UYi8 We are inviting youth and youth groups from around the synod to join us at 7:00pm for a worship experience. The youth of St. Luke’s are going to have dinner with Nadia and get a chance to interact with her in an informal way. That will be at 5:30pm. PARENTS, we are also hosting a forum/conversation with Nadia for parents/significant adults/youth workers/pastors who work with youth from 2:00-3:30pm. I will keep you posted and give more detail later, this is just a teaser!

MS GO Night 

Middle School and Jr. High, Greatest Overnighter, March 8-9 For MS/Jr. High youth…We are participating in the synod wide Middle School/ Jr. High Overnight event. This year we are based out of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Kirkland and will be having worship, jumping at SkyMania, going ice skating, movies, games, Lutherwood fun and more. We will leave St. Luke’s around 7pm on Friday and return around 7am on Saturday. I will give you more details when it gets closer but wanted you to put this on your calendar!
