Outreach and Servant Ministries

The mission of the Outreach Ministry at St. Luke’s is to connect us with our neighbors, our community, local and global missions and as a result connect us more deeply to one another and to God.

 

“Joining With God in Our Neighborhoods and Communities”
Presented by Dr. Alan Roxburgh

June 1st At St. Luke’s starting at 9am – 4pm. 

You are invited to participate in this one-day, interactive event that will show you how to experiment in discovering God’s mission in your neighborhood.  Individuals are welcome, teams are encouraged.  Cost is $20 per person and includes lunch.  Registration closes on Thursday, May 23rd.  To register go to www.lutheransnw.org

The Core Outreach Ministries of St. Luke’s are specific areas of ministry which congregation members are most involved in utilizing various resource, including their time, expertise and their financial resources.  The ministries fall into four categories:

  • Homelessness
  • Hunger
  • Local programs/ministries
  • Global programs/ministries

These core ministries support programs like:

  • Sophia’s Place at St. Luke’s (shelter and feeding)
  • Angeline’s Eastside Women’s Center (space and feeding)
  • Crossroads Salvation Army Feeding (feeding and serving)
  • Ensenada (building homes)
  • Interfaith task Force on Homelessness
  • Christmas Giving Tree
  • Basic Needs Bags
  • Shoes for the Sudan
  • Congregations for Kids
  • ELCA Disaster RElief
  • World Hunger
  • LWR Malaria Initiative
  • Puget Sound Blood Bank
  • and many others.
