Children’s music at St. Luke’s is an opportunity for young children, generally ages 3-12, to engage in worship meaningfully through music.
Children’s choir meets weekly at church on Wednesdays from 4:15 to 5:15pm. During rehearsals we sing, play instruments, and explore the concepts of rhythm, steady beat, melody and very basic music theory. We discuss the meanings of the songs we sing and the purpose of sacred music during worship, and we build understanding of the seasons of the church year by varying our song selections. We build community by sharing stories and eating snack together. The choir participates in worship by singing, on average, once per month. We would love to add more members to our group– everyone is welcome!
