Sunday School: Christian education for K-5th grade

Our goal is to create an experience of Christian education that is flexible and open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Sunday School is a reflection of our life’s journey as people of God. Every child of God, no matter their age, learns and grows in faith in many and different ways.

Confirmation: To prepare youth grades 6–9 for reaffirmation of baptism

St. Luke’s offers a relational style confirmation program for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders on Sunday mornings during the education hour from 9:45am-10:45am. Weekly classes are taught by our theologically trained staff and meets in Memorial Hall. The content of classes includes: the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles Creed, the New and Old Testament, and prayer.

A mentor/mentee program is in place for preparation in the fall prior to the service of Affirmation of Baptism. This includes intentional conversation, interactive prayer experience, shared meals, writing of a personal statement of faith, a high ropes experience, and dinner with the Board of Trustees.

We confirm our 10th graders in a service of Affirmation of Baptism on Reformation Sunday in late October.
