ensenadafamilyOur Ensenada Family for 2015

Adolfo and Lucia are indigenous from Oaxaca. They have three children, Juan (12 year old boy), Dulce (10 year old girl), and Luis (4 year old boy). They speak the dialect “Mige”. Six and a half years ago they moved to Ensenada looking for a better life and better job opportunities.

After five years of renting a house they heard of someone who was selling property close to where they were living and they decided to buy it as it was such a good opportunity. Adolfo built a small house with garage doors and they immediately moved to their land. They’ve been living there the last 9 months. Now that they aren’t paying rent, they use that money to make the land payment each month. Adolfo is a security guard, his shifts vary between day and nights. Lucia doesn’t work as she stays home caring for their children.

Adolfo’s salary is the only income the family has, and it is very little to cover all their expenses and the land payments. For this reason, they have been unable to build a home.  If you would like to help us with the cost of building them a home, put your contribution in the offering plate and marked “Ensenada”.
