Buy 2 Benefit Card FAQ’s

What are Buy-2-Benefit cards?

Buy-2-Benefit cards function just like gift cards or like using cash.  Participating merchants want to support non-profit organizations, and in return ask you to support them by purchasing their cards and then shopping with them at their stores.

How do Buy-2-Benefit cards help benefit St Luke’s?

St Luke’s buys the cards at a discount and re-sells them to its members for full face value. The bulk of the discount – from two to fifteen percent or more – is retained by St Luke’s as revenue.

What does St Luke’s do with the money raised from these cards?

All monies raised from Buy-2-Benefit cards will go towards our general fund for the first year.

How much does St Luke’s hope to raise by selling Buy-2-Benefit cards?

If 50 families purchased $250 worth of cards every month for a year – St Luke’s would raise over $10,000. The potential however, is limitless! A local parish has raised over 40k a year using this program. That’s a lot of money towards a lot of good!

Which Buy-2-Benefit cards provide the greatest benefit for St Luke’s?

Each card has its own discount amount. Some card’s discounts are as low as 2% and other’s are as high as 15% or more. The higher the percentage, the greater the benefit to St Luke’s. Percentage amounts can be found on the master retailer list.

When can I purchase Buy-2-Benefit cards?

Certain local retailer’s cards will be available for purchase every Sunday between services. For those cards that we do not stock or have on hand you will be asked to place a special order using our easy order form.

Can I order online?

Yes, online ordering is now available.  You can pick up the instructions for online ordering at the Buy2Benefit table on Sundays or call the church office and we can mail you the information.

Which retailers are participating in this program?

There over 100 participating retailers and more are being added all the time. There is a complete list available on line at www.glscrip.com .  There will also be a hard-copy list to view during the between-service purchase hour or at the St Luke’s office during regular business hours.

How will I be notified of special or increased discount promotions?

Retailers will often increase their discount percentages as an incentive to purchase. We will post special promotions on the St Luke’s web site as well as promote them during the between-service purchase hour. An increase in the discount means more benefit for St Luke’s!

Is there a minimum amount I have to purchase at one time?

No, there is no minimum purchase required.

How do I pay for my Buy-2-Benefit card purchase?

St Luke’s accepts cash, check or credit cards. For credit cards we will assess at .03% surcharge.

What is a special order?

A special order is needed if we do not carry the card(s) in stock during the between-service purchase hour. There are over 100 retailers and St Luke’s will only stock cards that our parishioners use consistently. It’s easy to place a special order using our handy order form.

How long does it take to get the cards after I place my order?

If you order them on a Sunday, they should  be available the following Sunday.

How often can I place an order?

You can place an order anytime and as often as often as you wish. However, because of the fees associated with shipping the cards, St Luke’s will only submit orders in bulk twice a month.

Can I create a recurring monthly order?

Absolutely! A recurring order is easy to set up and will make card-ordering a breeze! Simply use our handy order form and your cards will be waiting for you every month.

If I placed a special order, where do I pick up my cards?
All cards are shipped directly to St Luke’s. We ask that you plan on picking them up any time during regular business hours or during worship service times.

Will there be certain cards available any time in case I want to make a quick purchase on my way to the store?

Yes, if you stop by the St Luke’s office during regular business hours you may purchase any of the local cards that we have on hand.
